World Day for Decent Work

Today, as the world observes World Day for Decent Work, we are reminded that dignified and fulfilling work is a human right and an economic necessity. We recognise that achieving decent work for all requires coordinated action across policy, education, enterprise, and innovation ecosystems.

Africa’s future depends on how we are bridging the gap between skills supply and labour market demand, and how we are ensuring that every individual especially our youth and women can access productive employment, fair income, and safe working conditions.

Through our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, Career Indaba is mobilising cross-sector partnerships to:
🔹 Advance labour market reforms that promote equity and inclusion.
🔹 Strengthen skills development and employability through digital platforms and sector-based programs.
🔹 Facilitate access to markets and entrepreneurship support for small businesses and informal enterprises.
🔹 Elevate policy dialogue and data-driven insights on employment trends across Africa.

Our call to action is clear: decent work must be at the centre of Africa’s growth agenda. Together with government, business, labour, learning institutions and civil society, we can create an economy that works for everyone.

Join us as we shape the future of work through solution-driven dialogue, innovation, and shared accountability.
